William D. Goodwin, Inc.
William D. Goodwin II is a second-generation oil and gas professional and President of William D. Goodwin, Inc., an energy firm focused on the acquisition, operation, and optimization of producing oil and gas assets.
He learned the business firsthand from his father, Bill Goodwin, who was a seasoned driller, operator and dealmaker across the upstream value chain. Bill was also a co-founder of the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) and built a long-standing reputation for integrity and expertise across U.S. producing basins.
Carrying that legacy forward, Will continues to build on decades of practical field knowledge and disciplined deal structure, identifying undervalued assets and optimizing production through hands-on management and modern operational strategy.
A graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a degree in Geosciences and an MBA from Vanderbilt University, Will combines technical depth with business acumen to structure projects that emphasize both profitability and responsible stewardship of natural resources.
His approach centers on acquiring existing production with clear upside — value-add reworks, recompletions, and field optimization — and structuring investor partnerships that align incentives and leverage the powerful tax advantages unique to direct energy ownership.
Will previously served as Chair of the Tennessee Oil and Gas Association and remains active in state-level energy and business organizations, including the Kiwanis Club of Nashville. Beyond his professional work, he is a father of two daughters and an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking and skiing.
Today, he leads William D. Goodwin, Inc. in sourcing, operating, and managing producing energy assets while creating transparent, tax-efficient investment opportunities for accredited partners.
